Soneva Jani occupies a privileged position in the Maldives — 61 villas spread across a pristine lagoon in Noonu Atoll, one of the most remote and unspoiled atolls in the archipelago. With just one villa per 100 metres of lagoon, it ranks among the lowest-density resorts in the world.

The resort is perhaps best known for its iconic overwater villas with retractable roofs above the master bedroom — a feature that allows guests to fall asleep under the Maldivian night sky and wake to open ocean views. The waterslides directly into the lagoon have become one of the most recognisable images in Maldives travel.

Getting There

Soneva Jani is located in Noonu Atoll, 170km from Velana International Airport. The resort is reached by a 40-minute seaplane transfer with Soneva's private airport lounge for departing guests. Noonu Atoll's remote position means seaplane is the primary transfer — daylight hours only.
