Soneva Secret is Soneva's most exclusive property — a private island of just 13 villas in the far northern Maldives, on Makunudhoo Atoll in Haa Alifu. The island is one secret that the Maldives has kept well: an atoll within an atoll, naturally separated from the surrounding archipelago and accessible only by a 75-minute seaplane from Malé.

Each of the 13 villas is staffed by a dedicated team of three — a Barefoot Guardian, a Barefoot Assistant, and a private chef — ensuring a level of personalised service that goes beyond even Soneva Fushi or Soneva Jani. Every meal, every experience, every moment of the stay is curated entirely around the guest.

The resort is home to the Maldives' first floating villa — a unique overwater structure that moves gently with the tide. The surrounding atoll is extraordinarily pristine, with coral reefs that see very few divers and marine life that is undisturbed by mass tourism.

Getting There

Soneva Secret is located in Makunudhoo Atoll (administratively Haa Alifu), 268km from Velana International Airport — the most remote of the Soneva properties. The resort is reached by a 75-minute seaplane transfer. An alternative route is available via domestic flight to Hanimaadhoo followed by a seaplane or speedboat connection. The remoteness is fundamental to the experience.
