Maldives resort map: common questions
The Maldives has more than 150 resorts spread across 26 natural atolls. This map covers the leading luxury and ultra-luxury properties, each on its own private island, with exact locations, atolls and transfer types.
North Malé Atoll has the highest concentration of resorts thanks to its proximity to Velana International Airport, with speedboat access at any hour. Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and Noonu Atoll host the highest concentration of ultra-luxury properties, including Soneva, Velaa Private Island and Cheval Blanc Randheli.
Resorts in North and South Malé Atolls are reached by speedboat, available at any hour. More remote atolls require a seaplane, which operates in daylight hours only, or a domestic flight followed by a short boat transfer. Teal pins on this map are seaplane resorts, gold pins are speedboat resorts.
The closest resorts are 10 to 15 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. The most remote, in the far northern and southern atolls, involve seaplane flights of 45 to 60 minutes or a domestic flight plus a boat transfer.
