Getting there
Baa Atoll — 35-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport. The island is booked exclusively, so the seaplane timing is coordinated around your group's arrival rather than a fixed schedule. The Mezzanine Suites above the Beach House offer panoramic views across the UNESCO reserve. The Water Villas sit stilted above the lagoon with direct water access and sunrise views. The accommodation is not the most dramatically designed in the Maldives — the island's natural character and the team's service are the primary experiences — but every space is beautifully executed to Four Seasons standard.
The Voavah Summer yacht is the island's greatest underused asset. Most guests focus on the island itself and the water activities, but the 19-metre yacht allows you to explore the far reaches of Baa Atoll — including Hanifaru Bay for manta ray encounters (30 minutes away) and the Baathala reef system directly around the island for diving that rivals anything in the Maldives. Plan at least one overnight on the yacht or a full-day exploration of the atoll for an experience that takes Voavah from extraordinary to genuinely singular.

Baa Atoll's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status means Voavah sits within the most biodiverse and carefully protected marine environment in the Maldives. The island is positioned within the Baathala region of the atoll, famed for marine diversity. Hanifaru Bay — where hundreds of manta rays congregate from May to November — is 30 minutes away by the Voavah Summer yacht. Whale sharks are present in the surrounding waters.
